Saudade {deep nostalgia for the lost.}

"...the greatest nastiness precisely lay in my being shamefully conscious every moment, even in moments of the greatest bile, that I was not only a wicked but was not even an embittered man, that I was simply frightening sparrows in vain, and pleasing myself with it." -Notes from the Underground
"sometimes you need to step outside, get some air and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be."
inspiration is for amateurs- the rest of us show up and get to work.
"do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. the world you desire can be won. it exists.. it is real.. it is possible.. it's yours.” -Atlas Shrugged

Don’t say you’ll ‘treat a girl like a princess’ unless you’re prepared to follow up on that shit.

If I’m not living in a castle by the sea with diplomatic powers over a small country then you’re a bitch-ass liar.

So my mom and I have been working the same waitress job for 5-6 years now. She had been waitressing years before, but this is recently. Anyway, about… 15 minutes ago this guy she waited on left and told her to take care. Just that. Prior to this she had talked to him about Italy. Her people are from Florence, this and that, and she said she’s never been. She’s got 8 years of art education and she’s working a waitress job. It’s pretty… Sad and disappointing, I guess. Her and my father divorced 6 years ago and she hasn’t had a real job ever. Just been stuck in a small town she’s not from.

This man who we have never seen before tipped her 1000 dollars for a trip to Italy. Walked out, not another word.

…you know. Just when I start to lose faith in humanity….Hm.
